From Fields to Frequencies: A Life of Learning and Growth
The Foundation
My journey began in the fields. As a child of immigrant parents, I learned the value of hard work at 12 years old, working alongside my family. Those rows of crops were my first classroom. I have been gardening since 1981, and that lifelong connection to the soil has remained the constant thread throughout my life, even as I pursued a future in technology.
30 Years of Engineering
Driven by a belief in education and a degree in Mathematics, I transitioned from the fields to the forefront of science and innovation. For the last three decades, I have served as a Radio and Television Engineer. This career taught me a fundamental truth: every complex system—whether it’s a high-power broadcasting transmitter or a biological ecosystem—thrives on precision, the right inputs, and constant "tuning."
The Techy Green Thumb
Today, I am coming full circle. I am returning to my roots, but I’m bringing 30 years of engineering expertise with me. I don’t just plant seeds; I analyze the data. Based in the unique, high-stakes climate of McAllen, Texas, I’m using my engineer’s mindset to find the "clear signal" in the world of modern cultivation.
With a community of over 211 Green Thumbs and growing, I am proving that the strategies we explore here—automation, climate resilience, and smart tech—are universal. If we can make it thrive in the South Texas sun, we can make it thrive anywhere.
The Mission
The Techy Green Thumb is where resilience meets research. My goal is to help you bypass the noise and use smart, data-driven strategies to grow better and smarter.
